Preparation For Your Flying Lesson
Once you have confirmed your booking with the operations staff at 01 6247322 you are ready to go. On the day of your flight it is recommended that you phone the school before leaving home. In this way you can check that the weather is suitable and if necessary to get last minute directions to the airfield.
It might be a good idea beforehand to get some reading material on aviation so that you’ll have an idea about why and how the aircraft works. This will all be covered in the briefing before the flight but there is a lot of information given to you in quite a short period of time.
Since nearly all flight training aircraft have covered cockpits it is not necessary to wear any special clothing. However a pair of comfortable flat shoes is advisable, high-heels or large heavy work-boots are not the best when it comes to using some of the controls.
Remember that this is an experience you want to enjoy. So if beforehand you are feeling anyway unwell or are suffering from anything that affects your sinuses it would be better to postpone the flight to another day. It is not uncommon to feel nervous beforehand but you can always call the school if you have any questions, and they will be happy to put your mind at ease.
